Production Routine Immersive

What Is It?
The Production Routine Immersive is a 5 day immersive specifically designed for intermediate - professional level dancers who are eager to learn the skill of dancing while singing amongst scene work. This is a necessary requirement for Music Theatre as it would be in a professional ensemble role. Therefore the benefit of this immersive program will be working with all 3 highly regarded and talented creative team members in the space.
This elite program is designed to develop the dancer to grow their dancer/singer abilities in a group, focusing on harmony work and combining the characterisation with the singing and dancing. This program is aimed towards those interested in Musical Theatre and would consider themselves a strong dancer/singer or singer/dancer. This program is designed to give you practise & experience combining all 3 areas making for a more well-rounded & versatile performer.
Who Is It For?
This program is specifically designed for graduates from Full Time Training institutions, students currently studying, and talented aspiring performers looking to enter full time training, who want to expand their skills and become more hireable as a dancer/singer.
Candidates should:
be trained, or training in Music Theatre studies, with a view to becoming a professional performer
confident dancer with group singing experience
be 16 and over

Their wealth of knowledge and experience spanning decades in both Australia and overseas, makes this team, and program, unlike any other on offer in Australia.

Dana Jolly
Choreographer/Dance Mentor
Dana’s choreography credits include 10 musicals for The Production Company including, ”Anything Goes”, “Kiss Me Kate”, “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, “Follies”, “Little Me”, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, “Grey Gardens”, “Show Boat”, “Nice Work If You Can Get It”, “Curtains”, and “Gentleman’s Guide To Love and Murder”.
Other choreographic credits include “Fiddler On The Roof” with Anthony Warlow Melbourne/Sydney, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” Australian Tour, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” Sydney’s Theatre Royal, “Jumpy” (staring Marina Prior and Jane Turner) and “Last Man Standing”, both for Melbourne Theatre Company, “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” for The Alex Theatre, “Adelaide Cabaret Festival”, “Everybody Loves Rhonda” for Rhonda Burchmore, “So You Think You Can Dance”, The AFL “Grand Final Entertainment”, “The Royal Variety Performance” London, “Miss World Competition” London, International Festivals in Malaysia and the UK, numerous television shows and commercials.

Luke Hunter
Musical Director
Luke is currently the Musical Director for the Australian production of Come From Away. Luke was
the Musical Director for the Australian production of Jersey Boys, for which he received both the
Helpmann and Green Room Awards for Best Musical Direction. He co-arranged the Australian
Anthem for the boys to perform at the AFL Grand Final.
Other Musical Direction credits include Kinky Boots, for which he was nominated for a Helpmann
award, Dedications starring John O’Hara which premiered at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, The
Sound of Music and the Australian tour and Singapore seasons of Grease for the Gordon Frost
Organisation, The Addams Family, Gale Edwards’ acclaimed production of The Rocky Horror Show,
Beauty and the Beast (Rob Guest Endowment and Melbourne Zoo) Shout!, Oh! What a Night,
Leader of the Pack (Green Room Award for best musical direction), Falsettos, 42nd Street and Eddie
Perfect’s Up for the Victorian College of the Arts, Floorplay in Atlantic City and Burn the Floor in Las
Vegas.
Luke began his career onstage, appearing as Schlomo Metzenbaum in Fame the Musical, both in
Australia and overseas, and in the casts of the original Australian productions of Shout! and Oh!
What a Night.
Luke is also a composer, arranger, and the co-creator of the iPhone App Warm Me Up! which
provides vocal warm-ups to singers worldwide

Alister Smith
Director
Alister is a Multi-Green Room nominated Theatre Director and a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (Theatre Directing) and The Arts Academy Ballarat (Company 2004 - Music Theatre Performance). Alister is the founder and Artistic Director of The Smith Company & The Actor Workshop. He works extensively with performing arts students within the University sector working with the Victorian College of the Arts , Federation University (formally The Arts Academy) the National Theatre Drama School and The Queensland Conservatorium. His creative highlights include: Bring It On: The Musical (Australian Première - David Venn); Heathers! (Federation University); MACBETH (Essential Theatre); The Drowsy Chaperone (VCA Music Theatre); The Boys (VCA); Much Ado About Nothing (VCA); Chicago (Federation University); Les Miserables (The QLD Conservatory); The Mystery Of Edwin Drood (Federation University); Wicked (Footlight Productions); Project: Hysteria (TBC Theatre Company); Femme Fatale (Melbourne Fringe 2015); URINETOWN! The Musical (VCA Music Theatre); Slavs!
